Career Description
This is a unique opportunity to join the ILAP Operations
team. As a Technical Support Specialist, you will participate
in the ongoing deployment and support of ISP data center
services. You will provide professional, quality customer-service
support to our corporate clients and ensure the reliable
operations of software and hardware on the ILAP network.
This role is one of a team
of technical experts specializing in the delivery of services
from a 24x7 data center operation and requires on-call pager
duties.
The working environment is fast paced
and very dynamic. The operating environment consists of
Windows and Unix servers, Cisco routers and firewalls.
Relevant Technical/Business
Skills Required:
- Knowledge of Internet, TCP/IP, Network Switches/Hardware
- Experience with networking concepts and standards
- Point of contact for technical problems (phone support),
troubleshooting tasks and problem resolution for corporate
clients
- Support of internal servers and workstations
- UNIX Sun Solaris administration (Bind, Apache, ProFTPD,
Sendmail)
- Windows NT4/2000/2003 administration (IIS)
- Troubleshooting email issues with clients (SMTP, POP3)
- Solid network diagnostic & troubleshooting (ADSL,
dialup services)
- Providing clients with domain services (registrations/transfers)
- Willing and able to assist users and maintain systems
evenings and weekends when necessary
- Programming experience is an asset (Perl, Shell scripting)
